No, as Hornby are only releasing this as a Train Pack, it would be better to put the old moulds in a train set as its classed as a starter. I wish they would release a computer generated image, I want to make a MML one for fun!!

Can't wait to see a few examples over here when it does come out.
The pre-release samples have been on show at Hornby's stands for a few times now, and they look f00king awesome!!!! I hope next year they will release and MML, EMT and XC versions So they can go on my TMD, Derby Road (When it's made!!)

^ They have made an MML one for a few years! Plus the GC livery is a bit rubbish, and the trackmat is essentially rubbish too!
We're on about the new Super Detailed HST that is coming out from Hornby, and anyway that moulds from the 1970's. http://static.hornby.com/files/high-speed-train-18-06-08-415.pdf

Most things from Hornby are pretty rubbish anyway, look at their 47's for reliability! Bachmann and Heljan all the way.
Yes, because they were made over 30 years ago aswell, and the moulds are showing age. Hornby's own Super-Detailed range (Class 08/09, 31, 50, 56 & 60) and some of the Lima updated models are the best in the range at the moment IMO

1-The GC livery is nice, better than what National Express has done to the 91's and HST's. The GNER livery was nice and now they have ruined it! (Personal Opinion-Don't mean to offend anyone)
2-Yes, GC has had a rough time but they have set up a train company with little money and now they are getting back on their feet. I travelled with them in January and it was fine. The trains are nice and the service was fine.
And what does this have to do with Model Trains anyway? Do you think that Hornby are going to jinx the motors so that after a few run rounds the motor will explode! No I don't think so.
I'm looking forward to the new Hornby HST in GC livery but I am a little appalled that to have a full 2 power car and 6 coach set will set me back at least £300!
I am also a little puzzled why a different manufactor didn't do a new model as Hornby's was ageing and the sets they were bringing out were rubbish. The sets that are coming out now are not the best. What about FGW, MML, NXEC, XC Trains or EMT.
Also why hasn't hornby brought out a Mk 3 DVT? They have class 86, 87, 90 and 67, 4 classes which could be used with a DVT and Mk 3's?

I would have made sense to have done a Mk. 3b DVT. For some reason, Hornby chose instead to do a Mk 4 DVT in 'one' colours!! :? (See http://www.hornby.com/passenger-rolling-stock/one-railways-dvt-r4245/)

Because model makers can use paint to disguise a model. Take a look at the two-piece cab side window. Mark 3s have a one-piece trapezium shaped cab side window. The bogies are different too. Lots of detail differences. Open your eyes.

Hornby even admit to it on that page too - it states "Model based on Metro-Cammell DVB".
If people can be fooled by a number, I'd hate to think how confused they would've been had they seen the loco sporting the identity 37210 at the NVR on October 5th - it was a Class 25!
