i am planning on building a model railway and it requires flexi-track at a shorter length than it is sold, i was wondering is it possible to cut the piece to the required length or is it sold like that. Or can it be compressed?

You can buy track cutters.

You can buy xurion track cutters or I use bolt cutters I got out poundland excellent job all smooth and neat cut

i use a dremel to cut my peco flexi track. you can cut where you like. but when you need to fit a connecter to the rail you need to remove the lug on the sleeper first so it will fit.

Thanks that's how I reckon I will do it as my dad has a Dremal. Is the lug part where the sleeper goes under the rail? I am quite new to modelling and flexi-track

yes it's where the sleeper joins the rail. you just need to remove them on the first sleeper cut the top off with a knife.
