Well it’s almost that time of year, again. What do you think will come up in the ‘26 Hornby range? As I’ve been saying for the past decade I just want the original NSE VEP back.

The only prediction that I can safely make is: a TT120 Virgin Trains Class 47 as they've released Virgin Mk2's, but as yet there is no locomotive for them and I can't see them doing an AC type.

My prediction is that they will probably release a Hull Trains livery IET unit. It is the only livery of 800/801/802/803 that Hornby have not yet released. It would be an easy one for them to do.

Yes they did, but I've always wanted that older version in the newer livery.
Do you mean unrefurbished in the original number scheme; e.g., 7850?

In your opening post you mention original NSE, then in your last post, you mention newer livery. Which one do you want? I don't remember any unrefurbished (and unremumbered) VEPs receiving newer NSE livery (i.e. the darker shade of blue)

Ah there were, back in 2011 I think it was. Here.

Nothing in there for me, but a reasonable set of releases.
Interesting to see another new tool Railroad model in the form of the Class 60. Looks like that's the way Hornby may be going, seeing as the 'top end' level of models is very well catered for with all the new manufacturers of the last few years. Really hope it works out for them, as the hobby still needs 'affordable' entry level models

Not my scale, but there's some interesting stuff. The LNER 225 set is a welcome addition, the Railroad Lumo 803 complements the Railroad LNER Azuma nicely, and that rebuilt Merchant Navy looks simply stunning. Echo the sentiments about Hornby's Railroad range as we'll always need affordable models for newcomers and those on a budget, so I hope Hornby does well this year.
