Quite an interesting selection of new (or revised livery/identity) coaching stock on offer. I see there's a Mk. 3 HST Type TRSB there at https://www.hornby.com/shop/2014-range/coaches/r4594-br-mk3-buffet-car/ numbered W40008 - it is branded as 'Restaurant-Buffer 125' when in fact these vehicles were all 'Buffet-Bar 125' as far as I am aware.

Some of the RRP rises are eye watering, £150 for a Rebuilt WC/BB or £120 for their new 'Railroad' 9F....

That said, I am very interested in the 700 'Blackmotor' hopefully I won't have to wait an age to be able to aquire one.

Disappointed by the Eurostar. Seems to just be a re-release without any of the improvements that it really needs. Not to mention that we're still stuck with only 4 of 18 passenger coaches.

They're not centre cars, they're end cars. Centre cars (artic both ends) are what's missing.

Do Hornby honestly expect shops to sell them at those prices?

Seems a lot of model shops (both physical and electronic) tend to knock a significant amount off from the go, 20% off seems common.

Must say a Franco-crosti 9F is an interesting addition.

For many of the shops, what discount they can offer will depend on what discount they obtain from Hornby. Obviously a major retailer who buys in bulk will get a larger discount. But you are right, few if any retailers (probably except the NRM who seem to have a lot of expensive models on sale whenever I visit!) will be selling them at RRP.

technically true but because the train always runs as two half sets coupled together and are numbered accordingly so it's not incorrect to call them centre cars seeing as when in service they are in the middle.

Also while hurst models can make the others, I can't remember the last time they were actually in stock so they might as well not exist

You've missed them then! The PCs will be available as well in the form of 43043 and 43044.

No problem, Hornby seem to have made a bit of a mess of their own announcements this year. The best way to look through it is through RM Web and their powerpoint presentation and thread or what you can on Hornby's own website.

The most intriguing items in the new range I think though are these two:

- The Ex Lima class 40 and 47 Both make a return into the Railroad range with a new line up of cheapie DCC Sound range!

I purposefully avoid that particular web forum, I don't like it too much.

As for the 'Lima' 47 being in the Railroad range, it would make a nice change for that to appear in the Railroad range, the Railroad 47 has previously only been the old Hornby 47 (with an RRP of nearly £60 for the Northern Belle example released last time out). I rather hope the Lima 47 makes it into the Railroad range, but as the Lima 47 is due to appear in the Northern Belle pack in the main range, I have my doubts.

It used to be quite a nice forum to browse on (it still is if you are looking for tips and inspiration for your own modelling), however since it was swallowed up by the Warner group I visit it infrequently and post there even less. While the forum is still run relatively independently I am of the opinion the forum add are excessive and makes browsing very difficult.
