I don't think it's released yet, but I occasionally get to play with a friend's Hornby factory-fittted sound Duchess, Black 5 and A4, and all are very good, so I expect this will be too. He also has a standard Hornby 08, and that too is a very good model.

My only critisism is the rubbish packaging, with its seemingly infinate card sleeves and high chance of dropping the loco.

Also, welcome to the forum.

I see a few sites are now listing it as due for release in early/mid September.

Thanks for the welcome Dave !

Jesus! £170 for an 08? Wow!

I mean, I want one in that livery ,and wouldn't mind sound either, but come on!

Thats from the Hornby Website though, i'm sure if you try somewhere else like Hattons, or even your local model retailer would be much more reasonable, I wouldn't mind one either :D

I think I paid about £120 for my 20 but it's the sound chip that's the expensive part whatever the loco.

I've recently paid £120 to have sound fitted to a pannier on top of the price of the loco.

It is from Hornby, and my Class 37 with sound is brilliant, so I imagine it would be good :)
