Something lifted off an old Midland Railway 483 Class 4-4-0 steam locomotive?

Pretty sure it’s a BR container plate circa 1950s
That's an excellent shout!

Made of cast alloy, presumably?

Similar examples seem to be offered for sale on the usual online second hand goods platforms for c. £20.

Can't you ask her? Suggested tentatively, I've been married since prehistoric times. ;)

Location
Up the creek
It looks as though the number would fit a Diagram 3/001 Type A Container built at Earlestown in 1957 to Lot 2964.

Thank you so much everyone.

She bought it at the local auction, here in Wisbech just before Christmas. presumably from a house clearance, as thats what the auction deals with usually.
As there's not much of a railway in this neck of the woods, it has been puzzling to say the least.

Thank you all
