I'd be jumping for joy if that went ahead and was well patronised, if only for the benefit of nwrail's many photographers and contributors. Well, and the chance of reducing the number of lorries plying the A55 too.

The only regular freight west of Shotton these days (IIRC) is nuclear waste from Valley. Aluminium trains from Rio Tinto are dwindling to nothingness, and the ballast quarry at Penmaenmawr is mothballed, with a train running every few months 'when required'.
