Just spotted this on RTT, a long day out for those who decided to do the full return journey

Leaving before 6.00am and not returning until 11.00pm a lovely day in a beautiful city though I'm sure.

Two places more chalk and cheese I don't think you could find!! Holyhead and Edinburgh.

That is a long haul. Not dramatically longer than the same journey by commercial services, mind, which is a bit unusual for a railtour, and you do get a direct train. Cheaper than the commercial alternative, too.

It must be a popular proposition, as it's shown as completely sold out on the website!

That is a long haul.

That's an understatement, I think - around 14 hours travel for three hours in Edinburgh! It's a bad case of "Numb Bum Time", I think.

I'm sure a couple of trips to the buffet car for some "liquid refreshment" stopped the rot setting in too badly

Less of a chore for passengers joining the train further east along the North Wales Coast, or at Warrington or Wigan, though, for whom timings would have been a bit less antisocial.

Can't have been too many joining at the intermediate stations, stops of just 2.5 minutes at Warrington and Wigan.
