Holt Connections

I am going to be attending the NNR Diesel Gala on Saturday and I was wondering-having never been to an NNR gala before-whether the 2 minute connection between platforms at Hot is possible given the length of the car park. For those interested, a timetable is now on the public website.

Agreed - one of the two platforms terminates at the buffer stop, but the other is some way back (this is the one used normally - it has the station buildings next to it). It is probably 150 yard/metres from the buffer stops.

As is the way, depending on the platform you arrive at, you want to either be at the very front (arriving on left hand side) or a couple of carriages back (right hand / normal side).

More like a five minute walk, and in my experience they are as bad (if not worse) as the Severn Valley at Bewdley for not holding connections. The timetable (now posted on www.pleg.org.uk even has printed in bold letters 'We cannot hold the trains for passengers to make connections'.

At last years steam gala, which had 25057 out, both Sheringham and Holt had got Bewdley disease and do NOT hold trains for leapers.

At Sheringham you can only use the foot crossing to change trains, they were blocking this off between the arrival and then departure a minute later - I predict a few arguments if they try this on Saturday. Completely no chance at Holt off past experience...
