Well no, I had mistakenly thought that the 395 WAS the super express, why I thought that, I don't know. And a 395 test unit not a super express one!
So, to be clear it was a Siemens Velaro mock-up in Eurostar livery at Excel, not a Hitachi Super Express in Great Western livery at Reading?
Mystery solved then!

Our user Kingfisher200262 is involved in the marketing of these trains (increasingly blatantly on this forum in my opinion), I'm sure he'd be crowing if they'd actually built one.
If you read the various threads on this and other forums, you'll see plenty of references to "buying a few more Turbostars", "building a new batch of 377s", "getting some UK TRAXX", starting the Desiro production line again" etc etc etc.
I'm simply applying some balance to things!
As the new kids on the block, it's hard enough to enter the market, surely you wouldn't blame me for promoting the virtues of our offering? The moderators / admin are always at liberty to pull me up if they think I'm pushing the boundaries too far, and I will always respect and comply with their wishes.
Finally, I never crow, though when we do eventually introduce our first UK products, I will be glowing with pride inside.
