Historic Loco Usage Information

I am sure that since IT has been well used, a full log of a loco's usage could be simply produced.....

If a loco from the 70's and 80's was chosen, could we get information on it's every move since introduction to scrap? Or was that all paper based (or not at all) and consigned to history?

The Class 37 loco group have a pretty extensive log of the workings for most (if not all) Class 37s, dating back to each locomotive's release. I don't think they're 100% complete, but pretty extensive
