Highland Rover Question

Hi guys
I am exploring the West Highland Line this September and have purchased the excellent value Highland Rover. I was wondering, however, if this is this valid on the Caledonian Sleeper between Glasgow Queen Street and Fort William (departs 5:48), as it effectively acts as the first train of the day?

There's nothing on the ScotRail or the Railrover website that says this isn't allowed

Yes, subject to Railcard conditions applying (e.g. not before 09:30 with a Two Together).

Caledonian Sleeper also requires a free, but mandatory seat reservation in advance.

When i was investigating earlier, the Caledonian Sleeper Website wasnt allowing me to select Glasgow QS-Fort William as a journey option. How do i go about getting a seat reservation?

Any ticket office can do it, i've just looked at Fujitsu journey planner, but i'm not in a ticket office, so I can't complete the booking, but it lets me go as far as seeing the allocated seat!

Are you trying to use a 26-30 Railcard?

Caledonian Sleeper don't generally accept them which may be another reason the reservation/journey isn't successful.

I'd try and get a seat only reservation using Great Western Railway - it's free and you just select any ticket type.

There is only a handful of seats though in a single carriage, and may be fully booked well in advance this time of year.

It's stated on the National Rail website that it applies to ScotRail trains only - might be worth checking with Caledonian Sleeper.
