Is there any news on when the Highland Main Line will finally be upgraded to hourly?

Thw eork was done at Pitlochry and Aviemore to allow faster crossing points. And yet we still have gaps in the timetable of two hours at times. And the proposed time improvements have not materialised either.

The Pitlochry and Aviemore work was just the first step there was further works required but the Core Period 7 document had no mention of further works beyond a vague comment about an aspiration for "a mile a minute" journey times on the HML from 2030.

Given there's no trains to run extra services anyway it is no surprise the long promised HML and Inverness - Aberdeen hourly services haven't progressed.
