Hidden Secrets; Underneath Leeds Station - fascinating (and potential??)

Not sure where to post this - speculation; infrastructure/stations or here!!

I've just watched a youtube video of Leeds Station - well. underneath to be precise. Corridors, tunnels, rooms, air-raid shelters etc. What an opportunity to redevelop a huge area! Retail, bars, clubs, museums...I'm amazed it hasn't been done! Can only think the redevelopment would cost £mm's and on top, emergency access and fire issues - but if only some of it were done I'm sure it would be attractive to locals and tourists?

Would make a good "Hidden" station tour.

Redeveloping that would be the £100millions and no way would you get the payback somewhere like Leeds. However it would be a fascinating place for a Glasgow Central style tour.

Is there still a public road through underneath the station parallel to the railway tracks/platforms? I'm sure I have walked it (maybe accessed off Neville St) under the arches supporting the station but crossing over the river Aire flowing under the road.

Dark Neville Street. The combination of the road, the river and the darkness really puts me on edge!
