Hi Guys

New here:D I have been accepted for a selection day on Friday 30th July in Liverpool for a Station Assistant post.

Can anyone please give me any info or advice on what to expect from the group excercises or interview, I dont presently work for Merseyrail so any advice would be great.

Thanks
Paul

Not sure exactly what Merseyrail do tests wise etc. does the role include dispatch? If so they will send you example tests... if you can manage those with ease you won't have a problem.
As far as group exercises go, from experience, you should make sure you get involved, get your voice heard, give your opinions etc. and try and involve people who may be quiet.

This is barrier staff and first and foremost think of the customer.
Be smart, pleasant, make eye contact, say hello, ask them question, obtain more info in order to help the customer. Never compromise safefy, and if questioned say so and always inform the Transport police or any other emergancy services.
Questions like. What does a customer expect of merseyrail?
Clean staff, pleasant journey, a to b with no fuss, etc etc

If a man confronts you:
Again safety first, report incident.

All general common sense really. Put the customer and safety first.

exercises are general aptitude tests which are straight forward

Good luck
