Hi,
A few years ago a goods line from Alexandra Palace down to Finsbury Park was brought into passenger use. This meant that southbound trains from Welwyn Garden City and Hertford North no longer had to queue to share the same southbound line.
Since the start of the summer the queuing is back for southbound trains. Both platforms are still in use except usage has switched - now Welwyn trains use platform 1 and Hertford trains use platform 2. This means that the routes now cross before Alexandra Palace hence the queuing.
Does anyone know why this is? Do we know how long it will last?
