Hi All - I have the fortune of a free day on Friday 3rd November - does anyone know which pres lines are running a service on that day without me doing an epic trawl of all the websites?

Thanks in anticipation.

UofH.

Nothing doing at the East Lancs railway, the Embsay and Bolton Abbey railway or at the Keighley and Worth Valley railway.

I am completely mobile to be honest - some southern opportunities would be of interest as I have done very few of them

The Bluebell is running on Friday, complete with an LNWR observation car, so that could be a good bet.

That's as may be, but believe the OP was planning a visit to a heritage railway on Friday 3rd November 2023.

Half-term varies more than usual this year - I notice the GWSR has two weeks but TWThO, as does the KWVR.

The Severn Valley is operating a half-term timetable (that week only) with 5 round trips daily, so that is one option for you.

Great - that could be a nice day out.
Glad to help. Alton's high street and shops are within a few minutes' stroll from Alton's station. Usual retail chains, although Alton seems to have fewer "good" shops than 10 years ago.

Alresford has far more character and its shops and eating choices are - to me, at least - more appealing than Alton's.

I hope your planned visit is blessed with better weather than Mother Nature has in store down here for the coming few days...

To whet your appetite, a few sun-and-steam photos at Mid-Hants, Bluebell and Swanage heritage railway lines, taken 8-10 years ago, on post #54 of this thread:
