I think you are making a good case, in this post, to answer your question earlier regarding why TOC websites don't offer the cheaper fares: some people would see it as complicated and may contact customer services asking why it's a slower journey, which increases the retailers costs.

You can't really in one post complain that TOCs don't offer the cheap fares for slower journeys, but then in a subsequent post say how to complicated the slower journeys are!

Very well said. It sometimes shocks me how little some people value their time so as to substantially prolong their journey for the sake of a few £. Fair play to the OP though if that's what they want to (or must) do!
