Hemerdon/ Devon banks places to spot

Hi all. Thinking of travelling down in April for the clun castle tour over the banks but have never been down only ever seen videos on YouTube of the banks. Will be travelling by car so was just wondering if anyone has names for the best spots for either direction where she’ll be working hard and that are easily accessible. don’t mind parking and walking for a while

If the Castle is working Newton Abbot to Plymouth, then Dainton Summit offers a great view of the "S" curve, from Stoneycombe up to the tunnel.
I parked my car in foliage, by the entrance to the adjacent field. It can get busy on "Steam haulage" days.
The field is privately owned and, when I was last there, the farmer was taking a small (£2) donation from each person present on his land.
