Help!

Hi all,

I've tried to book tickets on TPE/ MML trains, Manchester-St Pancras
I know i've pressed back, and requested a different seat a few times, but DISASTER!

ALL of the MML First Fares have been removed! It used to be £18, but now it's the £100+ FOS!

This has happened to me before, but not on this scale, so i just booked the next one down a few pounds more.

I think it's to do with the new system on the net which shows you the reservation on the screen before hand?

Has this happened to anyone else on here?

I'm hoping it'll reset after start of bussiness tomorrow.

Most leisure ticket sales are done at the weekend, so it is quiet common for there to be loads of options found on the Friday, but by the Sunday they are all gone

thetrainline uses a provisional booking based on your login details
If you are given a seat, then go back and reprocess and are given another seat, then both seats are held for 6 hours
If you do this more and more, then all the seats can end up held!

BUT if i try to buy it from Sheffield, guess what?

It's still £18!! That's the thing- The Train's not sold out (from Sheffield)!

And if i request a FOS from Manchester, it'll reserve a seat.

I'm wondering if the 185 thinks it has FC full now? (There's only 15 FC seats on 185's)

Bingo! I used VT's Trainline

Does this mean i can probably get my Dad to book tickets tomorrow evening??

Virgin Trains and thetrainline are quite separate

You can recognise thetrainline ones from the "T's & C's" link
You are purchasing tickets from thetrainline and they are acting as the travel agent

Virgin Trains sell their tickets directly, although the website is powered by thetrainline
Tickets are sent from the Mail Order centre in Edinburgh

Thanks for the advice m8internet, the problem has now been resolved.

Fingers crossed, it'll stay like this until tonight..

I'm tempted not to give this advice, as really you should be going standard given your budget constraints , but what you need to do is specify 'via Hathersage', and I highly recommend collecting the tickets from FastTicket. If you want to know why, ask me on MSN. But, suffice to say, the cheap tickets will be available and you'll have no problems using them on TPE.
