Help needed

im trying to identify where this was taken. Sometime in the early to mid 80s. I’m assuming an open day, i had guessed Stratford 1983 but only one power car there and didnt have headboard or situated next to an EMU. Been looking at the excellent BR open days site, but can’t readily see one that I went to with HSTs there. Anyone recognise the location? .

A photo on Facebook would seem to confirm that it is 43083 at the Stratford Open Day in July 1981, including the headboard and the rather jaunty angle of the white cab access steps.

Top man, thank you. Can’t remember going in 81. I did in 83 it seems. And to be honest I thought it was 82 I went! Hahaha old age is catching me up

I would have said Stratford with what looks like a brand new Class 315 behind. Happy days bunking around the works back in the day

No problem at all, the memory does get vague as the years go by! The BR Open Days website seems to suggest that the Stratford Open Days were two yearly around that time - taking place in 1979, 1981 and 1983 (I used that website to check the veracity of the photo on Facebook).
