Help me understand a discrepancy in fares

So I'm looking at my tickets to work for an upcoming week of night shifts, Chelmsford to Liverpool Street.

A return leaving at 20:00 tonight (sunday) returning 07:00 tomorrow (monday) with a Network Railcard is £27.55, discounted from £31.90, made of an off-peak day single and an Anytime Day Single.

But the same journey leaving tomorrow night and returning Tuesday morning is £31.90, with no discount, but the same 2 ticket types.

Why does the journey from Sunday evening to Monday morning allow a discount but Monday evening to Tuesday morning does not..?

The minimum discounted adult fare payable is £13 on all journeys Monday to Friday (does not apply at weekends or on Public Holidays).

The minimum discounted child fare payable is £1 at all times

The minimum fare payable for Anytime Day Travelcards is £23.60 at all times, when bought as part of your ticket to London from outside London Zones 1-9.

Minimum fares apply to each individual travelling, not to the total value of tickets purchased.

So on Sunday evening you can get a fully discounted fare, but on Monday evening, you don't get the full discount if it would be less than £13.00.

If you are still wondering, would a weekly season be the best bet?

I worked out for 4 nights in a row its still slightly cheaper to do dailies, but sometimes yes a weekly does work out cheaper and less hassle!

Also worth adding into the mix that later this year Chelmsford should get contactless which will mean that off-peak fares are charged on weekdays if you can touch in before 06:30.
