I recently applied for One of Three Conductor Jobs with Northern in late April 2013, I made the interviews and was successful and was sent on a Conductor Assessment at York, I was informed a week later that I had passed the test and that they were currently assessing the conductor requirements for the station I had applied for and would get back in touch soon.
I was informed at the test centre that the start date for the successful candidates would be July 8th, I had informed Northern in my interview that I was due to got on holiday for the last two weeks of June and they said it was ok as they would work round it.
When I came back off my holiday at the end of June I still hadn't heard anything from northern about my application (apart from the email I got two days before I went on holiday telling me I had passed the test).
I was told by a conductor that I know who works at the station were I have applied for that only one of the three successful applicants had made it onto the July 8th Course and couldn't tell me anything else apart from advise me to contact HR.
I did this and they told me that they couldn't provide me with an update yet as they don't know when definite start days are for the courses, but I had no need to worry as someone will be in touch soon regarding the next stage of my application?
All of this has left me confused as I don't know if I have been selected for the job and also when the start date/medical date will be if I have been chosen for a job.
can anyone help me?
