HELP! Camera's

I have got vouchers and money coming for xmas and so wanting a new Camera or maybe Camcorder (which takes pictures) in the sales,

I have come accross these Cameras as being pretty good and better than the £80 crap i've got now:

Obviously these Camera's at these prices will have video mode too?

Which i think this this takes pictures as well?

So i'm stuck between them 3 really, all around the same price and should have pretty good Image Quality and Sound Quality.

So what one would you go for out of the three? or can you give me any advice on them please.

Jord, for Battery life and Video zoom get the Fuji, I have it excellent battery life lasts so long! and it does video zoom. The kodak has lithium iron which wouldn't last long at all!

I wouldn't get the 5700. Id get something better. Save your money.

Though it does depend on what you want. Good photos? You will want a high end bridge camera. If you want a good video machine. Get a camcorder. If you want both? Well you could still get a high end bridge camera as you can have in video zooming (Twisty barrels are better than button as you don't have the motor sounds).

The good thing I found about my 5600 was the video quality was awesome, tho let down by lack of in-video zoom.

I wouldn't buy another bridge camera for photos though, my 400D fulfills its job excellently.

Ive got a S6500 now and its the best thing ive ever brought, Clear images and Ability to Zoom in Videos

Can be picked up in asda for as little as £120

Ah yes, although i don't want nothing too comlicated for me lol As i remember someone saying, along the lines of " here's someone that has a good camera, but cannot use it to it's full advantage" i don't want to be like that, take it one step at a time and work my way up.

All cameras work in A (auto mode) So you can get used to it whilst playing about...

Why would you want a camera that does effects like that? Surely a camera loaded with effects like that is no more than a novelty camera.

Plus effects can be easily added on a computer anyway.

fuji 5600 (get some stupidlyt excellent prices on those now, and they are still best in their class, next to the 5700 i guess)

You should be able tog et things way cheaper than argos if you look, so out of the two ones suggested, no competition... f5700

You will be able to shoot in B&W but it isnt something to fuss over.

I think thats too complete-cated for jord, I was going to get it and the amount of concentration was needed was mad, The S5700 is perfect as it does good video with decent zoom, and before anyone starts runting about it going out of focus, It only does that if I go too fast, If I don't its pretty good!.

You've yet to taken a decent photo with it, or the Minolta for that matter.

Might I ask what complete-cated means? All photos need concentration to compose etc., maybe that's how you could improve, unless you have an ADD?

Wouldnt say perfect with videos, it has a good lense for photos but with film for my liking it still zooms in and out to fast and it often isnt as smooth when you try to make it as slow as possible. Also, unless the object is loud enough, its hard to describe... its a silent chuff in regular beats dubbed over the video.

Now I own a 5700 and i have a right to rant about the focus more specificly for me not good with smaller objects:

Scenes like 00:40 and 01:44 show what the focus is like, so scale up to real life its pretty much the same. But as a rule i dont really use focus on videos anyway.

Photos are far better nice crisp shots with the right settings auto or manual although i have to watch out for purple fringing on bright summer days and the battery lasts for an age! i went for 5 days out and not having to change once. Overall good camera for photos definatly, i wouldnt advise for videos, i personally have a seperate camera for videos but sometimes the film element is my backup should it fail!

I've heard good things about the Sony W35 from my friend who is a semi-pro photographer, said he'd won a Telegraph photo competition with a pic of 185 First Dynamic Lines, taken on that camera (ironically he isn't even a train enthusiast ). Its £100 in the Argos sale at the moment.
