Dear all,
Many thanks for reading. Basically I live in zone 5 and I always buy zone 1-5 monthly ticket. I have had depression and anxiety panic since last year and has been seeing GP and on mediation. I have another property in zone 2. Because of medical side effects, I tend to forget things etc. In January, my whole bag was stolen at my local train state. I reported to police but lost everything including Oyster card. When I purchase a new one, I decided to buy zone 1-3 and top up because I don't travel over the weekend. However, I didn't always tap in or tap out from zone 5 everyday going to work/home. Therefore, which means sometimes I only get charged for fairs between zone 1-3. This morning, I topped up cash in my oyster card and come to work. However, maybe the top up was too late and I couldn't get out. A member asked to see another staff and they found out that I don't always tap in and out and said I am fraud by not paying the fairs between zone 1-5. They took a statement and said they will send the case to prosecutor. It is with southeastern. I have got a panic attack again. I started consulting few specialized solicitors. One is threating me a lot and asked for 750 + VAT fees. He plans to contact the rail company now and settle the case. However, few others suggest to wait until they send me a letter, then we have a chance to explain, and settle, accompanied by medical notes from GP.
I am scared to death now. I was wondering if any of you tried to use a solicitor and shall I wait or shall I started contacting the rail company?
