The big bad suits of the Scrabble world have released their latest amendments to the OFFICIAL LIST OF WORDS YOU MUST USE WHEN SHOWING OFF AT CHRISTMAS

So "ACIDFREAK" is one of many words no longer permitted from the Official list of Scrabble words (goodbye also to STEADICAM and even SWEETPEA)

It's hello to "TIK" (the drug methamphetamine in crystal form) and "BHAI" (a Hindu form of address) and other such useful ways to get around a terrible rack though that's no way to talk about your mother-in-law, hahah.....)

What's wrong with Zimmer? Why is it no longer valid?

It's debatable as to whether a word can become invalid over time. I mean, a word with a meaning is a word with a meaning.

So qwerty is still allowed but wysiwyg is no out? Whatever

Of course, as long as qi is still a permitted word in the game then I'm happy.

Can't help but think Scrabble is a bit like the railways (given where we are one has to find a link!) whereby you get a rule book for the game and then 'sectional appendices' and 'update notices' of changes what one should do and what is no longer to applied in the rulebook!
