Just wanted to say hello and say what a useful forum this site has been over the years. I have been applying for trainee driver positions since what was Virgin East Coast had their advert for circa 60 drivers all those years ago. That time I got as far as the online 'checking test' and was gutted to go no further.
Another four applications at another two operators later and I have finally made it past a DMI and the psychometric tests after learning from my previous attempts where I needed to do better.
I've never posted here before as I'd never had a burning question that I couldn't find the answer to using the search facility, nor had I any particular experience to pass on to anyone else.
The part of the tests I had been least looking forward to was the MMI. Whilst most of the questions I felt I had a decent example to answer, i have never in my life been close to making a 999 call, I managed to have a good example coming from a 14 year office career. It was from reading this site that I realised that you didn't need a life or death situation to answer the emergency or pressurised situation question well.
I'm not expecting an offer anytime soon, but hopefully I am not in the pool for too long.
