Evening!
For the last month there has been 4 or 5 rail carriages, I think mark 2, in the sidings at Hellifield south of Settle.
They are in a terrible state, covered in graffiti, and look like they have never moved in years. Obviously they have and I assume by rail. Anyone know where they came from and why they are there?
My first thought was WCR???

They came from Carnforth Steam steam town a few weeks ago after been raided for spare parts. They are there for storage as far as I’m aware

Thank you yorkshirerail. Perhaps Northern Rail could use them this coming winter. Might be a tad warmer than a class 158 !!!

I think some of these are the ones from Burton on Trent.
They'd been stored at Southall for over a decade, and moved north this Spring. CDL appears to have been liberated from them during their brief layover at Carnforth.

Surely these will now be duly dispatched for scrap in the near future?
