In practice what difference might this make to how the application is processed?

These things are always discretionary, and it might be deemed in the interest of “fairness” to push someone through if it’s an area such as this, based on their own campaigns for recruiting under represented groups.

Something like height though, I’d like to think that as long as you’re medically fit, and can move freely etc, it wouldn’t be an issue.

In UK if 4”11 or under then apparently qualify for disability benefits for dwarfism.

So presumably it therefore falls in the making reasonable adjustments for the disability category

Plus passing all the other tests etc. I've seen females on here fail so you wouldn't just get through just because you're from an underrepresented group.

I’m just reading about the RAF’s 617 squadron and their deployment to Afghanistan. One of the female pilots was binned from training as her arms were 2mm too short! She eventually requalified as a navigator as the panels in the rear cockpit are slightly closer to the seat than in the front cockpit!

I heard that the RAF are very strict on limb length, not sure if it’s still the case, but I guess for a pilot it is important at least to an extent...
