Also, every electric bus I've been on has a superior ride quality to diesel.

The Yutongs that First use here have been stellar, heating is a lot better than any of the diesel (or hydrogen) fleet, as is the ride quality and comfort.
I would assume the bulk of heating is done while connected to the mains, then a heat pump just works as necessary during service.
They’ve also been nicely cool in summer. (as opposed to the rest of the fleet)

This is isn’t the topic for such a discussion.
My guess is that it’s something to do with an EV's unladen weight compared with an equally sized diesel vehicle's unladen weight, which is usually a couple of tons lighter. EV buses generally have uprated suspension to cope with their increased unladen weight. They're carrying this excess weight consistently, even though here in the UK the Gross vehicle weight in a 2-axle bus is still 19.5 tons.

The A/C should be lovely in the summer but you're right it's bloody freezing.

Had one of First Aberdeens Wright Streetdeck Hydroliners to work this morning. Happy to report that the vents were blowing hot air thus the bus was nice and warm.
