Flying out of Heathrow Terminal 2 on Saturday around 14:00 (Air Canada to Vancouver) - we like to get there early so will probably spend a few hours in Departures beforehand. I know Airport Dining / Drinking options are all much of a muchness but anyone been recently and got any recommendations? Also is it worth paying the extra and using a Lounge? We like to have a few drinks before flying as we are not great flyers (Emergency Landing at Paris CDG on a TWA Flight from New York many years ago scarred us!). So probably 3-4 Drinks and a light snack / lunch it's probably going to come out the same whether we visit the bars / restaurants etc or do the Lounge. We are flying Cattle Class so nothing free but think we can book the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge at Check In for a price.

They are the usual restaurant chains - you can see the list here (you can filter by terminal and before/after security):
Post-covid and with today's inflation, prices have gone up significantly. It was a challenge to find a decent meal for under £15 (that's the maximum my company allows me to claim for lunch :p).

Not sure about the lounges though, never been into it.

I flew Air Canada to Vancouver in economy back in April and two free meals were provided. A main meal an hour or so after take off, and a snack about an hour before landing.

Mind you, returning from Calgary my ticket suggested that no meal was included in the fare - but again I got a main meal and a snack.
