Heathrow reverse working - 04/07/2026

There are two platforms at Heathrow Central - P1 is for trains towards the terminals and P2 is for trains towards London.
Today, however, trains towards London are departing from P1 and trains towards the terminals are using P2. Reverse working of platforms.
Does anyone know why this is the case?

Wondering if they're testing a hot weather plan perhaps? I think with the layout of the Heathrow stations it needs less underground points switching running the branch with the lines switched.

It was the same yesterday as well. Perhaps one of the signals in the normal direction has a fault.

I was there on 24 June and P1 was being used for trains in both directions. Nothing on P2. The screens and auto announcements didn't seem able to handle it. Manual interventions were needed

SN336 (Up Airport - at T2/3) is currently booked off due to a lamp fault with reversible bi-directional working in place. Should be fixed overnight tonight.

There's a signal fault at CTA (Terminal 2 and 3 station) that means trains would have to pass it at danger if used in the normal direction. Trains are swapping lines at Airport Tunnel Junction to mitigate this.
