Heathrow Express replica train cake marks anniversary

A replica of a Heathrow Express train made entirely from cake has been unveiled to mark the 15th anniversary of the airport service.

The 4m-long (13ft) edible locomotive at Paddington Station has been created from sponge, fondant icing and chocolate by a team of bakers.

Passengers using the service have been offered slices of the cake, which took 30 hours to make.

Yes I think Heathrow Express is too expensive and carrys a lot of air. Frankly the paths would be better used by long distance services especially with electrification of the GW mainline and extra services to Bristol

It is stupidly expensive but the refurb is amazing. I almost wanted to use the disabled toilet twice for the multicoloured sink! Great use of LED lighting throughout, and a sign of what you can do when on a less limited budget.

Not a bad way to 'sell' the UK to visitors.

I have used it about a dozen times over the past year and it is always busy, don't know where you get the impression it carry's a lot of air, in fact the only time I have seen an empty-ish service is late at night.
