Heathrow Express Electrostars 379 instead of 387?

Since GWR is planning to move a number of 387's to HEX it makes me wonder, Should it have been the job for 379's once they are withdrawn from Stansted Express concidering they already have airport spec, rather than spending it on the 387's?

The remaining 379's could join with the 387's. But would be good if they get sent to Northern for Liverpool-Manchester Airport express if the line via Warrington gets electrified but i may have more chance on owning a Aston Martin than that ever happening.

With potentially surplus 387 units on Heathrow’s doorstep, it was an easy decision.

387s were specified 'ETCS ready' so should be far easier to convert for service in the Heathrow tunnels than the alternative suggested.
