Heathrow Express £6.50

Hi all, im not sure if this is of any use to anybody but ive found an offer for a single journey from Paddington -terminals 1-5 for £6.50 instead of £16.50.Upto 4 tickets can be bought (2 round trips? )

This is true. Was working at the airport on Sunday, when an announcement was made at T4 advising passengers to 'make arrangements to leave the airport'. Give people a free service and they'll probably be more than happy to leave!

I'm shocked BAA was that generous! They're evil (IMO) and today they've been barring journalists from filming or speaking to people inside and Sky even spoke to someone who said their goons were even trying to stop people from uploading pictures to Facebook or Twitter!!! Mind you, it's not working - given everyone knows Heathrow is buggered and people are now asking about their alleged arrangements with certain airlines at the expense of others.

I'm sure BAA is getting someone else to pay for the 'free' travel, such as the airlines.. nothing would surprise me.

Not sure how they can stop people uploading to Facebook or Twitter- yes, they could block it on the wifi, but short of setting up a mobile phone frequency blocker (illegal and risky) there's nothing they can do about 3G really.

Nothing clever like that! They were simply telling anyone using a laptop/netbook not to do it - and someone interviewed had been spotted using Facebook and warned not to upload any pictures. Goodness knows what they suggested might happen if they did.

Clearly, if I was told, I'd have refused and continued doing it - and exposed them should they have then evicted me from the airport.

Why is BAA so desperate to keep cameras out? Are they worried the scenes inside of people sleeping on the floor might make them look bad? This year, nobody can say we weren't warned of bad weather - and in particular extremely low temperatures BEFORE Christmas.

For once, the Met Office was pretty accurate. Did BAA just assume it was probably nonsense?

Children must be accompanied by at least two adults.

I've never seen that before - what do they have against single parents?

That is crazy. It isn't just an insult to single parents, but any parent that might travel with their child while the other parent is somewhere else.

If they ever enforced such a nonsense rule, just say the other parent is in the toilet - then see if they wait!!

Could you please state your source on this? It doesn't appear in the Conditions of Carriage. I've never been asked to enforce such a rule in my two and a half years at HEx.

Yes, although sometimes you aren't going to be prepared and would have to try and set them up to say it again on tape. I've had many times I've wished I could discretely start recording.
