Has anyone got any information on health care in Spain. My wife's parents moved there about 10 years ago when they retired now they are thinking of moving back because they think they will be looked after better here. They say in Spain if you are in hospital you only get medical care not food or any other help which can make things hard if you cannot drive, is this true?

Location
A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
There was a discussion recently on Radio 4 about how certain hospitals in Spain were giving wrong information to English visitors and directing them to certain private hospitals, which have much higher fee charges. A complaint has been raised by Britain to the EC to see if they can prevail upon the Spanish government to ensure that all Spanish hospitals behave in correct manner on this point.

Thank you for that, they don't have private health insurance so what care would they get. There are a lot of elderly people who have moved to Spain for a better life how are they all coping.
