Hello.

Might head over to Anglia in a few weeks time and have some photography related queries.

Best Station to photograph 156s/170s?

Whats Norwich Station like for photos of 90s / Other stock?

Is Ipswich a good station to photo at?

Any other advice/recommendations?

Any help appreciated.

That'll be Norwich

When I go down I take the end of 1/2, however if there is nothing in 2 there is a good opportunity to take a pic of a train leaving 1 or arriving 1,2 or 3 from the end of the canopy. See this and this for examples of shots taken from the canopy.

The stock you will get at Norwich: 90+Mk3, (321,) 170, 156, 153.

Also if you walk appx 10 mins from Norwich station (google directions) to the road bridge, you may be able to get some pics from there.

Ipswich, you get more freight than you do at Norwich (if you get any atall at NRW) best pace to stand is the end of platform 4c\3b however I do advise to stand where 4c ends as 3b narrows from there on.

Any help appreciated.

I have never encountered any trouble at either stations (NRW\IPS) however as they are both barriered then I make a note of the time I enter through the barriers and the name of the member of staff who let me through.

See my flickr for more photos from Norwich, all taken from platform 1\2.

Hope I have helped,

TP

Come on a Saturday and get the Great Yarmouth drags. They always generate a lot of interest at Norwich.

Ipswich is also a good place to go - lots of freight and easy to move aroun the platforms.

Though if the 156's are what you are after, Norwich is the place.

Depending upon the amount of time, I would split my time between Norwich and Ipswich,
