Headcodes/ route numbers -377 MITRAC.

Hi all,
Sorry if I've posted in the wrong area but I'm very new to this.
I'm a trainee driver, in the early stages, and would very much appreciate if any of you guys could share some of your knowledge.
When setting up the cab on a 377, does entering the train reporting number from the diagram/schedule card into the GSM -R automatically configure the PIS for announcements? Or is this done via a separate entry for route code in the MITRAC?
Im on home study at the moment and my e Learning says, '....enter route code in MITRAC.....if available"
Do I then enter route code into MITRAC, AND train reporting number into GSM-R ?

GSM-R and Mitrac aren't linked. You put the PIS code into Mitrac and the headcode into the GSM-R
