HDR photography at Paris loco stabling point

HDR images are constructed from three or five bracketed images all taken using a tripod. The images are them combined to enhance the ranges of tones within the finished composite frame.

The pictures were taken on a Saturday afternoon at one of the best stabling points in Paris for freight locos. Twelve separate classes were seen in the 50+ locos. Not bad for 2012!

I'm never the biggest fans of HDR, but these are some fascinating shots. Is this area publicly accessible?

The stabling point is just east of RER station LeBourget on line B. Leave the station by the main exit and cross over the railway. There is an access road on the left that leads into the main yard. The locos are stabled a little way along this road on the left.

To reach the office cross the running lines using the road and double back on yourself to the office. Some basic French would be useful when you ask permission. At weekends (Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning) there appears to be no problem in getting permission. However I would go prepared with a high-vis jacket to show you care about your safety. Also report to the office when you leave just to show good manners.
