HDMI Cable Splitter

My television has four HDMI rear sockets. All are in use. I wish to connect an additional HDMI device. I could swop over cables each time I want to use different devices but apart from the inconvenience I don’t think it would do the television much good.

I’ve seen HDMI Splitter’s advertised. One HDMI into three. Has anyone used them, and are they any good. I’ve attached a link to show what I mean. Thank you.

I'd suggest that this 4 port switch, with remote control, would be easier to use long term.

Several years ago I bought a simple cheap module similar to this which works fine. 99% just 1080P but now would buy 4K.
If only one connected item is powered it mostly selects this automatically. If more than one then have to push the button.
It is powered from TV and/or the source item.

Though, keep in mind that some USB ports on TVs provide limited power so it may or may not work.

The orginal spec for HDMI devices requires them to output a nominal 5V DC (+/- 0.3V) 50mA to power otherwise passive switching units. HDMI 2.1 specs raise the current to 300mA to include high speed cables with built0-in amplifiers.

UGREEN is my first port of call for HDMI and USB-C hubs. In contrast to the ‘no-name’ brands on amazon and eBay, I don’t recall ever going wrong.
