On New Years day it appears that Northern's Hazel Grove to Preston services, are actually running Hazel Grove to Clitheroe. The returning service from Clitheroe to Hazel Grove is somewhat weird:
Clitheroe xx40 dep
Bolton xx32 arrives platform 1
shunts to platform 3
Bolton xx50 dep
Man Picc xx18 arr
xx21 dep
Haezel Gr xx43 arr
The 0933 Hazel Grove to Preston is usually booked 4 car, which then forms the 1423 Preston to Hazel Grove, but if the 0954 service is a double unit it will be the 1250 departure from Bolton back to Hazel Grove which is normally a 2 car set, or will 2 carriages be detached on arrival at Bolton in the morning and reattached to the 1450 service?
Im not sure how Northern will be diagramming the Hazel Grove to Clitheroe on NYD, whether all Hazel Grove to Clitheroe services will be 4 car, seen as though some Manv Vic to Kirkby services are only a hourly Wigan to Kirkby so there will be some spare units.
There are some Hazel Groves / Buxtons in the peak from Bolton that are 4 cars normally.
