"When's the next train?"
"The last train through here was 1959."
"Shouldn't be too long then, it's quarter to ten now."

The indicated stop is actually at the old railway station, now part of the Dales Museum established in the station, former goods shed and a new(ish) building. Hawes market place is at the other end of this delightful little town, some 5-8 minutes walk away!

Well perhaps they will get a rail service again in the not too distant future as the Wensleydale Railway want to extend that way towards Garsdale. So it could be possible.

Infact I did go to Hawes using the Wensleydale a few years ago, there was a vintage bus service that connected at Redmire. Agree it is a nice little town, with good cheese and pubs. :)
