Start smoking menthols. No bugger wants one of them! I got quite hooked on them when I smoked, every time someone asked for a spare one they turned it down!

One hanging around queen st at 6am, that was commitment! In the sleep deprived state I was in I almost handed over a fiver but my friend thankfully pulled my arm back and said "he's got no change"

Still streets ahead of anything the likes of Lambert and Butler can claim to produce in terms of normal fags. They are truly the Carling of the tobacco world, cheap, nasty and taste wrong.

I shouldn't be talking like this, I've given up!

Chances are the guy was indeed not a Falklands war veteran. A lot of them put signs out to make you feel bad.
Next time you see him, ask him what regiment he was in, who was his commanding officer then watch his eyes look everywhere else but at you.

Once I met a homeless man in Exeter who said he'd served in Northern Ireland. Since he stated what regiment he served in and given his condition (very distresed, probably suffering from PTSD), he probably was a genuine case.

In Oxford city centre there is sometimes a begger who plays an instrument (can't remember which one) and takes his false leg off. Presumably to gain sympathy. There is a similar one in manchester.

If he served in N.I then he is lucky to have only PTSD. The IRA/PIRA were/are the biggest ba''''ds ever. Will happily slaughter your family as a warning :(
