Was asking this question of myself recently. Late 40s, 16 years at a large private School, starting off as an out and out IT Technician but have evolved to the ultimate jack of all trades. Literally fingers in all sorts of pies including managing projects, procurement, some tech stuff too. If you was to ask my what my actual job title was I don't think I could fit it into a sentence let alone 2/3 words. If I was to look for something new there isn't really a clearly defined role I'd be applying for. Not tech enough to be a Network Manager or senior Techie of some description. Have probably not worked on enough large projects to be a PM pro but could probably wing it. Team leader? Yeh, maybe.
Anyone else reached this stage of their career?!
Maybe looking to move on soon so am interested to see if anyone else has encountered this possible self realisation.
