Havant --> Hammersmith - RG easements still apply?

Looking for validation rather than advice, although any suggestions to improve (read: make cheaper) my journey would be appreciated.

Friday 25th October, I am attending a concert at the Hammersmith Apollo, and as such will be aiming to return on the last service out of Waterloo.
I remember from an earlier thread the suggestion of a Havant - Redhill return (£15 CDR) any permitted via Clapham Junction, stopping and starting short on both legs (I would of course be using SWT), then using Zone 1-2 Travelcard (I don't own an Oyster, and I don't believe my StagecoachSmart bus ITSO would work).

It has been brought to my attention that the Routeing Guide offered easements allowing doubling back between London Waterloo and Victoria and CLJ; are these valid for my journey, thereby allowing me to travel to and from Waterloo rather than CLJ?

Your easiest way to check is to use NRES, as the Routeing Guide now states that any route allowed by it must be checked against NRES. For information though, my FasTis ticket machine shows direct to Waterloo and then out to Redhill via Clapham Junction is permitted.

NRES thinks otherwise, I'm not sure what database they are using there, it seems like they have their own set of rules that are not publicly available. They just make it up as they go along I guess.
