Has LNW cut super off peak choices?

London North Western seem to have cut Super Off Peak from intermediate stations on the Liverpool-Birmingham route. So cheaper to go from Runcorn to Birmingham via Liverpool South Parkway! The code on BR fares and online says break of journey is not allowed but on the phone LNW and National Rail Enquiries says it is allowed.

There have never been Super Off-Peak tickets from Birmingham to Runcorn so WMT haven't removed anything.

A Super Off-Peak Return from Birmingham to Liverpool South Parkway has restriction code LJ. As per https://nre.co.uk/LJ break of journey is not allowed on the outward portion of that ticket.

However, Runcorn doesn't have barriers and it is extremely unlikely you'd get pulled up for it by the guard (in the highly unlikely they even check tickets at all, given it's WMT...).

WMT Senior Conductors based at Crewe are however probably one of the most likely to check out of all their depots!
