Then go to Booking office and buy:

Day Return to York £11.70
Day Return York to Hartlepool £11

The latter ticket is only valid if you avoid Darlington and Newcastle, on TPE or GC Services. saves about £20 on a normal Swinton-Hartlepool Return.
