Could this mean 5L50 Chaddesden - Yarmouth is cancelled then?

Both 50s definitely worked 0D50 to Knottingley so unless H&H are hiring something else in then I assume 5L50 is cancelled and the ERS coaches will stay at Chaddesden for the time being

It has been announced by UK Railtours that DB are no longer able to provide Class 66 & 67 locos for UK Railtours 'The South Wales Industrial Explorer' tour on the 29th November, arrangements have been made for a ROG Class 37 to take their place which will operate "between Llanelli and Gloucester via Swansea", 08795 will pilot the train at Landore Depot

The South Wales Industrial Explorer 37 is expected to be 37501
I can back this up from a very reliable source and having missed it at the SVR, this would work out very well for me :D However, I remain cautious until I know it is on the front of the train on Saturday :D

Rather strangely 0L08 is showing as having been cancelled at Humberstone Road (FF - FOC diagramming or rostering issue)

Was that supposed to be the 37? I know the 37 is only planned to be used between Llanelli and Gloucester so wasn't sure if it was joining the stock all day or heading down to Wales to be added to the stock in one of the yards

UK Railtours, Hanson & Hall and all those with tickets have been well screwed by both DB and ROG, I wonder how many people will lose their money for hotel bookings etc with such short notice
I hope an official reason is made public soon. I can’t help but think the lack of a path to Swansea may have been part of it?

I cancelled my hotel booking in Derby last night having weighed up whether an extra hour in bed was worth the £60 for a hotel or whether I should save that money and drive to East Mids Parkway. Whatever sixth sense kicked in there, I am thankful as I have already seen a good few discussing their hotel losses on this. Hanson & Hall are always at risk of this occurring whilst they only have the one loco because they will always be reliant on others to provide the backup.

No doubt there will be some s**t flying around from a certain person about what has gone on here

At least I get a bit of money back in my bank in time for Xmas but now have a Saturday (which I had to beg with a colleague to swap with me for at work) where I have an empty diary.

There is an official reason. DB weren't able to provide locomotives for the train. ROG were then lined up to do so, but must have found that they couldn't resource it either. The itinerary couldn't be fulfilled solely by 50008.

The second short notice cape forced on UKR this autumn together with other plans getting shot through. The future of non-steam tours is not looking good.

Does anyone happen to know if the 4TC set is still in Ripple Lane, which suffered flats when hauled by 50008 earlier this year? Haven’t seen anything to my knowledge about when (or how), this will be recovered?

Thanks in advance!

It was reported 5 weeks ago on Southern Electric Group facebook page that the set was at Ripple Lane showing on OpenTrainTimes as WAG4

Latest photo on Flickr has the entire set there as of 15th October

* Coming up for 50008 in 2026 - 7th March - UK Railtours 'The East Lancashire Railway' from and to Watford Junction with a Class 50 Alliance loco and ERS Mk3s and the expected assistance of 56006 while at the ELR
Third time lucky. Or final chance?

In fairness, I don't think either of the previous 2 canned tours have been the fault of H&H nor UKR.

It is definitely an issue for them though that they only have 1 loco meaning they will always need to outsource the assistance loco. However, I have heard a very minor rumbling that they may be seeking to remedy this (although I believe only at discussion stage right now)

A vehicle run with a handbrake left on falls squarely under the train operator’s safety responsibilities and nobody else.
