There's been very little in the way of updates on the partnership since photos of 43480 & 484 appeared, H&H social media has been unavailable, at least to me, for three weeks or so but it's been reported elsewhere today that 50008 'Thunderer' has been seen outshopped at Eastleigh in its new livery, all over dark grey, full yellow warning panels and with the yellow & grey H&H logo, I'm sure that the first photos will appear very shortly

The current fleet disposition would seem to be

50008 - Eastleigh
31106 - East Lancs Railway - for major overhaul
43296 - Willesden TMD - for spares
43308 - Willesden TMD - for spares
43423 - Willesden TMD
43465 - Eastleigh Works
43467 - Willesden TMD
43468 - Eastleigh Works
43480 - Eastleigh Works - in RailAdventure livery
43484 - Eastleigh Works - in RailAdventure livery

There are also two Dellner fitted Habfis/IWB and three Sfps/IGB ballasted brakeforce wagons at Willesden DCR

What will these be used for? Charters?

According to Railadventure:

"The company, which has been based in Munich ever since, deals with the high-quality handling of test and transfer runs for the railway industry. Specially developed assets are held for this purpose. RailAdventure owns locomotives, coupling adapter and brake wagons as well as the in-house-developed and patented transport system Loco Buggy for the transport of vehicles with other track gauges. At the Braunschweig site, RailAdventure operates a workshop infrastructure under the name of Zughotel. The permanent and mostly multilingual staff includes specially trained locomotive drivers, technicians and test managers.

The company is often also referred to as an “interim operator” because it only ever operates the vehicles entrusted to it on a temporary basis. RailAdventure GmbH is a member of the German Railway Industry Association (VDB). A saloon car marketed under the name Luxon is available for the most sophisticated occasions."

A first day of testing for 50008 yesterday (monday) working 1332 0Z50 Eastleigh Arlington to Salisbury and 1500 0Z51 return, both trips hauling DBC 67028 as insurance and well covered on Flickr, currently scheduled for a tuesday trip to Didcot

One thing noticeable on photos of 43480 & 484 (WNXX subscription section) is that they have not, as yet, received either a high level light or yellow warning panel

**Updated Tues 8th June**

50008 out on 0919 0Z50 Eastleigh Arlington to Didcot TC and 1328 0Z51 return with 67028 for company again, tomorrows schedule is as Class 5 to Westbury and back

No updates on, or photos of, the 31, 50 or 43s lately but news that a contract has started, thanks to @800001 for confirmation, to move Class 720s between Wembley and the maintenance facilities, the first move was on wednesday using DCR operated HNRC 20s and two H&H/RA barrier wagons

Posted on H&H facebook today

"50008 will be leaving Eastleigh on Monday 26/07, running in the path of 0M61, heading to Wembley. The first leg of the run north in readiness for the 31/07 charter"

**Updated Mon 26th July**

50008 worked solo up to Wembley today on DB operated 1448 0M61 Eastleigh Arlington to WEFOC

**Updated Tue 27th July**

50008 will continue its trip to Leicester tomorrow, it is scheduled to run as DCR operated 1200 Willesden to Leicester LIP via Bletchley and Bedford with 20118, 20901 and the H&H/RA barrier/translator wagons

**Updated Wed 28th July**

As reported elsewhere 50008 and the barrier wagons were hauled by the 20s on 1200 6Z50 Willesden to Leicester LIP

**Updated Fri 30th July**

No trip out tomorrow for 50008 after failing a Fitness To Run test on a safety related issue

No reason apparent so far for the failed FTR on 50008, it did however depart today on 1400 0Z50 Leicester LIP to Kidderminster SVR behind 50007 & 50049

The translator and brakeforce wagons remain at Leicester LIP

Still no updates on the power cars as yet, but there are a couple of photos on Flickr dated 27th July of 43480 minus its front grille and headlight clusters, otherwise no yellow panel or third light work carried out so far

For anyone interested 50008 is currently scheduled to run tomorrow as 1205 0Z50 Kidderminster SVR to Leicester LIP after attention

* Belay that, movement now cancelled

Just seen 43480 & 43484 being driven through Eastleigh on low loaders, causing quite a bit of congestion!

Anyone know where they're off to?

Auf Wiedersehen and Abschied to those two! If anyone is interested, they were moved out of the works by the SLC Rail 20s over the weekend.

43465 + 43468 are both now in RA as well.

Not sure exactly where they were off to, but they’ve been reported elsewhere as seen heading north on the M40, so the destination would appear to be in the Midlands or the North.

Reported on WNXX that the destination is Immingham for movement to mainland Europe, no photographs of the transfer as yet but one of both 480 & 484 on Flickr show them with the high level third light fitted

Mainland Europe?! All that for RailAdventure acquiring UK stock so that they could launch operations in the UK then!

They are still very much UK registered, it may well be a case that RA’s barrier vehicles are being converted over there and that the Power Cars have been taken over there for commissioning and testing. They should be at Immingham Docks by now, having left Eastleigh East Yard yesterday evening. And yes, the lights have now been modified with a high level headlight.

It was reported from day one of the partnership that the 43s would be prepared for use in both the UK and mainland Europe

Reported on WNXX today that 480 & 484 are "scheduled for display in Germany, and are expected to be returning to the UK in a few weeks"

43480 and 484 have arrived in Cuxhaven. A RailAdventure 111 is taking them to wherever in Germany they’re headed overnight from Stade, a diesel of some description will be needed to take them to Stade from Cuxhaven as that line isn’t electrified.

There's a nice photo and video of 480+484 over in Germany on Rail Color's website.

Very interesting, have they fitted any cab equipment for running on the continent?

Highly unlikely.

RailAdventure have played this game of hauling a convoy of their rolling stock around Europe before, with similar results of locomotives ending up in locations they wouldn't have been permitted to reach under their own power.

Several more photos of 480+484 have been added to the Rail Colour article from several locations across Germany. Includes a nice photo of them alongside an ICE4 at Leipzig Hbf, with the rest of the Mobile Messe 21 consist shunted out of the way for the photo op.

If you mean the photo in the header of the article (and also further down), it's at München Hbf, not Leipzig.

Conversely though some of their kit is gainfully employed. I particularly like those Wheelskate type thingies they use for moving locos around which are not 1435mm gauge. Great to see the 103 and 111 active on these kind of jobs.
