Yep, I know one single old lady who had a pumpkin thrown against her house wall.
a while back, the carol singers came. I refused to answer, they went round the estate and at the end made a point of opening my letterbox and the language would indicate a good working knowlege of Roger's Profanisaurus

That's awful, I noticed there were traces of thrown eggs around my town too.

I am not overkeen on carol singers either, as you say, they can be aggressive too. "Bah Humbug" as Mr Scrooge would say.

I lived in the centre of a large British city for many years and never once had a trick or treater. Isn't celebrating Halloween just a tacky American custom?
